As your walking from the inlet to the bay. You’ll notice the rock
structure disappear. All along this strip there’s lots of short fluke
commonly caught while fly fishing. There’s BIG stripers tight to
the bank in wolf packs. Stay focused and make sure your shades
are on. The one thing that I noticed is the sea robins are plentiful.
They are a magnets for gamefish. The sea robins AKA birds are
famous for busting up or eating baits such as bay anchovies,
silver sides, mummichug and spearing. The birds are constantly
creating a chum slick. The game fish will find this slick before
the seagulls do. Bluefish are very abundant but a little tricky
with the retrieval of a fly. I caught more Spanish Mac’s there
than Little Tunny and Antlantic Bonito. I find the Bones being
the most difficult of the three to catch. I’m the tin man at heart.
I caught quite a few on ultra light with 6 pound mono and a 5/8
ounce tin. BONZAI ! ! ! !
Thank you for your time and efforts. Happy New Year
